This stagnant sewage creates puddles and creates foul odors, so sewage management is important to prevent outbreaks of disease. Household level and public level cesspools/ magic peat/ seepage pits, stabilization ponds for villages of 5000 population, divats, drains and closed drains for villages above 5000 population, small bores, public cesspools, stabilization ponds, Constructed Wetlands, Divatus, Phytoride, Aeration of Big Pond, Drains/Sewers etc. Works are carried out under Sewage Management. An amount of Rs.280/- per person for sewage management in villages with a population of up to 5000 and Rs.660/- per person for sewage management in villages with a population of more than 5000 is admissible for sewage management in each revenue village. As per the instructions given in the Government Decision 21 November 2021, there is a provision to spend 30 percent of the amount of the work by the Gram Panchayat from the grant received from the 15th Finance Commission. While 70 percent of the amount is given from the Swachh Bharat Mission (SMB) phase-2 scheme.
