The Central Government has launched Swachh Bharat Mission Yojana on 15th August 2014. The Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural) scheme provides the benefit of personal toilet incentive subsidy to eligible households as per the baseline survey The Family who not having personal toilet at Gram Panchayat level. Palghar district has been declared as the 12th district Open defection free district of the state on 2^nd October 2017. Under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural), public toilet construction, solid waste and sewage management as well as sanitation awareness programs are implemented at Gram Panchayat level.
